debian package install through usb stick

  1. On another machine, download the package from Debian site.
  2. Xfer it using usb stick to ~/temp
  3. ‘dpkg -i’ may suffer some trouble, ‘gdebi’ runs more smoothly, although you may be asked debian cdrom (actually install DVD).
